Slovak Accreditation Council
Slovak Accreditation Council (afterwards the SAR) is an advisory body to the President of the Slovak Office of Standards, Metrology and Testing (afterwards the SOSMT).
The task of the SAR is to promote proper functioning of the accreditation system in the Slovak Republic in accordance with the requirements of Regulation (EC) No 765/2008. The SAR within its activities adheres to the principles of independence, impartiality and transparency, and supervises regular monitoring activities of the Slovak National Accreditation Service (afterwards the SNAS). Two members of the SAR are the members of the SNAS Board of Supervisors.
The SAR is comprised of 21 members who are appointed and dismissed by the President of the SOSMT. Among the SAR members there are the seven nominees of the state administration bodies, seven nominees of the SOSMT, and seven nominees from associations, unions and the chamber established by special Law as the representative of businesses whose products and services are subject to the performance of accredited bodies.
