Directive (EU) 2015/1535
New obstacles to trade coming into existence through deviating national technical regulations can be prevented by procedures stated in Directive (EU) 2015/1535. This Directive sets up a procedure which imposes an obligation upon the Member States to notify to the Commission and to each other all drafts of technical regulations concerning products and information society services before they are adopted in national law. The regulation that was not notified is not enforceable within the framework of the EÚ Internal Market.

Central Unit
For fulfilling the above mentioned obligations a central unit was created at The Slovak Office of Standards, Metrology and Testing in accordance with the Act 264/1999. The information exchange procedures on technical regulations are implemented into national legislation by the Regulation of the Slovak Government No 453/2002 Coll.
